Festivals are the major part of religious families in our
country. It is the time when we celebrate, enjoy and spend time with family in
a full-fledged manner. When there is a festival, there arises the pooja and
other things too. When pooja is existing, then even offerings to god is also
existing and it’s the Hindu custom to prepare eatables and to give it as an
offering to god. And one of the main offering or prasada which is done is the
banana sheera. Let us learn how to make it in a best way today.
Ingredients
required:

Banana – 1 medium (chop it into pieces)
·
Sugar – 1/3 cup
·
Ghee – 3 tbs
·
Cashews – 8 (break it into pieces)
·
Boiling water – 1 cup
·
Raisins – ½ tbs
·
Sooji (rava) – ½ cup
·
Cardamom powder – a few pinch
Method of
making:
1. Take water
and keep it for boiling in one pan.
2. Take ghee
in a pan and heat it. When the oil is hot, add cashew and raisins and fry it
well.
3. Remove the
cashews and raisins from ghee and add sooji or rava to the ghee.
4. Fry it well
in a medium flame until a brownish color is obtained.
5. Add the hot
water to the pan with continuous stirring.
6. Care should
be taken so that there are no bubbles or lumps of rava after adding water so
mash is well and stir it in a proper manner.
7. Stirring is
done in a medium flame until a dry mixture is obtained.
8. Add sugar
and banana now. Again the mixture becomes liquid like.
9. Then mix it
well till the mixture leaves the pan on sides and till the oozing out of ghee
occurs.
10. Then add
cashew, raisin and cardamom and mix it thoroughly.
11. Now the banana
sheera is ready to serve as offering.
This sheera done as offering is very tasty and also is mouth-watering.
